Charli XCX's new album Brat is now available to stream in some parts of the world, and her good pal Lorde was one of the first people to listen to the record. In celebration of the project's release, the "Solar Power" hitmaker gave her friend a big shoutout to promote the record.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the New Zealand artist shared the official album art and then praised the British singer for her latest work.
"The only album i've ever presaved is out today... Charli just cooked this one different... So much grit, grace & skin in the game," she wrote.
She added that it was an honor "to be moved, changed and gagged" by the pop star's work.
The musician concluded her post by saying, " There is NO ONE like this b****. Brava and welcome, Brat."
The recent news comes after Charli XCX appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone UK, where she revealed in the interview that she was jealous of Lorde during the beginning of their careers.
"When 'Royals' came out, I was super jealous of the success that that song got, and that Ella got," she said.
The "Apple" hitmaker noted that many things were going through her mind at the time, piecing all the comparisons together like having big hair and wearing black lipstick."
"You create these parallels and think, 'Well, that could have been me.' But it couldn't have because we're completely different people," she added.
Charli noted that the reason things didn't work out for her in the beginning was that she wasn't making music that sounded like "Royals."
Regardless, the musician clarified that they are on good terms today, and she eventually figured out all the things that were unique about her and pursued them.
As Charli XCX celebrates the release of Brat, Lorde has seemingly teased fans about her fourth studio album.
The musician took to social media to share a cryptic post containing mysterious photos and captions, and many fans believed that she had hinted about her next era of music.
"Use the existing tools wherever possible," she wrote, adding random symbols.
Fans took to the comment section to celebrate the recent post, as one wrote, "ella what does this mean."
"I think we're getting something new before she turns 28," one speculated.
