Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's honeymoon "face" and phase are over, just a few months ahead of their second wedding anniversary.
A new report emerged, citing a body language expert who pointed out the signs that Lopez and Affleck's marriage seems to be on the verge of falling apart. The couple, who have been making several outings amid the rumors surrounding their marriage, reportedly looked unhappy as they "no longer have a look of love" in their eyes.
Body language expert Judi James spoke with the Daily Mail to interpret Lopez and Affleck's recent public appearances, including their get-togethers in Los Angeles.
According to James, the "All I Have" singer looked frosty, while Affleck seemed to avoid a PDA with his wife.
"With all the rumors reaching something of a crescendo, Ben and Jennifer are now talking in body language riddles," said the expert. "Their most recent appearances together have thrown up a lack of the kind of intimacy, passion or loving signals that would reassure the fans yet they are performing some polite, social rituals that might define a friendship or family bond."
James was referring to Affleck and Lopez's outing at Samuel's basketball game in Santa Monica, Calif. Photos from the outing, shared by People, showed the couple sharing a kiss on the cheek to greet each other instead of their usual PDA-filled greeting.
"His raised and rounded cheeks suggest he is happy to greet his wife, but rather than any compensatory signals, the kiss is super-speedy rather than lingering as he turns his head quickly and pats her back to break before walking off flapping one hand at the press," James continued.
The body language expert noted that, while Lopez and Affleck still held hands at the time, their facial expressions reportedly showed something was missing in their marriage already. Their faces reportedly remained frosty despite exchanging eye contact.
James' comment resonated with what body language expert Bianca Cobb told Fox News Digital after the release of the photos. The expert said the kiss on the cheek was something friends - not lovers - would do.
"Even his stance, the way his body is angled, is more platonic than romantic. And his feet are in a runner's pose, as if he's there for a few seconds before he moves on," the expert explained. "If the couple is having relationship difficulties, then it makes sense. When you love someone, and you're going through a hard time, you might show reserved affection."
Per Cobb, their gestures only showed a "lack of intimacy" between the couple.
