Charli XCX has been around for many years, and she rose to fame for her music and unique name. However, the musician seemingly made a subtle change to her stage name, prompting the question why.

As shared by Pop Crave on social media, the musician slightly changed her name as the capitalized "XCX" is now spelled in lowercase "xcx."

This subtle move was also made on her streaming platforms, such as Spotify and Apple Music, as well as on social media.

As of this writing, the British singer has yet to reveal her intentions behind the sudden name change, as she never announced anything online.

In a 2012 interview with Rolling Stone, the "Mean girls" hitmaker, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, gave fans an insight into her stage name as many were confused about what the "XCX" stands for.

"Well, people have speculated that it means 'Kiss Kiss,' but I really just chose the name because I thought it looked cool and sounded catchy," she explained.

The singer further noted that she felt the name needed to stand for something when she was signed under a record label, so she told them it meant "X-Rated Content."

"Everyone there just kind of looked at me as if I was crazy. They were all probably thinking, 'Oh, no, what did we get ourselves into?!' But really, at the moment, it just stands for everything I've done so far," she said.

Charli has come a lot from a 19-year-old rising singer from the United Kingdom to a now 31-year-old global pop superstar whose music has always been anticipated by fans.

The singer just released her latest album, Brat, which contains her previously released hits like "b2b," "Club Classics," "360," and "Von Dutch."

Just days after the release of her latest record, the singer shocked her fans with a surprise drop as she unveiled the expanded version of her album, Brat. It's the same, but there are three more songs, so it's not.

It featured three more songs titled "Hello goodbye," "Guess," and "Spring breakers."

In other updates, Charli will perform at a few arena shows in the United Kingdom this November to promote her latest album and her supporting act, Shygirl.

In addition, she will have a co-headlining tour with Troye Sivan billed as Sweat Tour.
