Fans were disappointed when The Black Keys suddenly canceled their upcoming shows for this year without giving fans any explanation. Still, member Patrick Carney gave an insight into what happened behind closed doors.

Taking to his official X account, formerly known as Twitter, the musician briefly explained why the tour was canceled, simply posting, "We got f*****. I'll let you all know how so it doesn't happen to you."

It seems like the musician will drop more details in the future as he added, "Stay tuned."

Last month, the duo, consisting of Carney and Dan Auerbach, silently canceled their upcoming 2024 shows as many fans just received notifications that the concerts they bought tickets for would not push through. Many theorized that the series of shows was halted due to low ticket sales, but they later addressed the incident online.

Later, the band took to social media to offer a slight explanation, saying both members are "alive and well."

"Following the recent run of shows in the UK & Europe, including stops at iconic venues like Brixton Academy and the Zenith in Paris, we have decided to make some changes to the North American leg of the International Players Tour," they wrote, adding that the new move will enable them to offer an exciting and intimate experience for them and their fans.

"Thank you for your understanding and apologies for the surprise change... We're pretty sure everyone is going to be excited when you see what we have in mind though, and look forward to seeing everyone soon," they added.

Following this, Billboard reported that the Black Keys had parted ways with their management team, Irving Azoff and Steve Moir of Full Stop Management.

A representative for Azoff told the outlet that the split was "amicable."

The band has yet to share an update regarding their canceled shows, but they are still set to perform at the NASCAR Chicago Street Race music festival on July 6, 2024.

The group had just wrapped up shows in Europe, where they performed songs from their latest album, Ohio Players. Prior to canceling their concerts, they performed on The Voice's season finale.

Unfortunately, their latest album was their least successful commercial release in two decades as it only debuted at No. 26, contrary to their Dropout Boogie album that debuted at No. 8. q
