Miley Cyrus isn't holding back on her words about her father, Billy Ray Cyrus.
In an interview with David Letterman, Miley opened up about her family and childhood. As expected, she could not skip talking about her father, who had been with her since the beginning of her career.
She revealed that she "inherited the narcissism" from Billy Ray, talking about her shared conceited traits from her father.
Despite the glaring negative trait, Miley also talked about her father's positive qualities. Miley gushed about her father's humility and his ability to be realistic.
"He also has a relationship and a foot on the ground to nature and to the real. And he always did, even when he was super famous," she said. "And my childhood - I mean, we can go and talk about the hard times or the struggles - but I had food, I had love, I grew up in a beautiful big house and my dad didn't have that."
As for her mother, Tish Cyrus, Miley described her as a "superhero," clarifying that she had raised her.
The Cyrus family has been entangled in a messy drama between Tish and Noah Cyrus, Miley's sister. Since then, conflict between family members grew, leading Miley, Trace, and Brandi to side with Tish while Noah and Briarson sided with Billy Ray.
Despite the family drama, Miley never forgot to give his father the flowers he deserved for being a guiding light for her.
"My father - I'm grateful for being able to watch him ahead of me," she explained. "He's almost given me this map. There is a map of what to do and what not to do. And he's guided me on both."
When asked which had a greater impact on his life, Miley didn't want to express her preference, saying that her parents "can't be weighed on the same scale."
Cyrus' interview with Letterman can be watched on Netflix's My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.
Very recently, Billy Ray praised Miley in an Instagram post.
The "Achy Breaky Heart" gushed about his pride for his now Grammy-winning daughter.
"I'm incredibly proud of her. She's a survivor and a true artist. She learned early on to love and appreciate the fans who make everything possible," he furthered.
According to Billy Ray, he and Miley "both cherish the connection" they have with their fans and shared that they're "grateful" for every single one of them.
