Lalah Hathaway just kicked off her new era with the release of a brand-new album. As an added bonus to her fans, they will get a chance to see her on a big stage again as the musician embarks on a 17-date tour; check out the details below.
The singer, popularly known for her polyphonic singing, just released her eighth studio album, VANTABLACK, which is now available for streaming on major music platforms. The record was released under her own Hathaway Entertainment, which is associated with the SRG-ILS Group or the Virgin Music Group.
Her latest project contains 16 songs, including previously released singles like "Mood For You" featuring MC Lyte, "So In Love," and "I AM."
"What I thought were conflicting perspectives actually began to shape the concept of not only this album but also how I saw myself. I started reframing how I saw color - in terms of being the Blackest I've ever been," she said of her record, adding that even though she's steeped in who she is, it doesn't exclude other things that make up the sum of her.
To support her latest project, the singer will embark on a tour of the same name, which will kick off at the BJCC Concert Hall in Birmingham, AL, on Aug. 24, 2024.
She will also perform in cities such as Sacramento, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Fayetteville, Dallas, Seattle, Los Angeles, and many more.
Her last show is scheduled for September 28, 2024, at the Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, SC.
