Justin Timberlake is making headlines after he was arrested in the Hamptons on DWI-related charges. More recently, an eyewitness revealed what transpired before authorities apprehended the musician.
An eyewitness recently spoke with the New York Post, claiming that the singer was drinking alcohol at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, LI, in the early hours of Tuesday, June 18.
"He was wasted," the source revealed, adding that there was one point when one patron left his drink at the table to go to the bathroom, then he was surprised when he came back as the singer was already drinking his beverage.
"When [the man] came back, [Timberlake] was drinking his drink... The guy goes, 'Justin, that's my drink!'" the insider said.
Following the alleged incident, the 43-year-old musician was stopped by police after he left the establishment. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and cited for running a stop sign. He was using his 2025 gray BMW at the time.
According to court documents, the singer only drank "one martini" and followed his friends home. However, he refused to take a breathalyzer three times. A sobriety test was conducted for the singer, but he reportedly failed.
"He was a gentleman... He didn't show any entitlement at all. He did refuse the tests, but that is his right," an insider told Page Six.
The policeman who apprehended him was said to be too young to recognize the singer, and sources said he even commented about the future of his concerts, saying, "This is going to ruin the tour."
As seen in photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Timberlake walked out of the Sag Harbor police headquarters to a nearby court building.
His hands were cuffed before him as he left the building with his lawyer, Ed Burke, Jr.
In other updates about the singer, he is currently on The Forget Tomorrow Tour, which includes stops in different cities worldwide.
His next scheduled show will be at the United Center in Chicago, IL, on June 21 to 22, 2024. He will also have two shows at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY, later this month.
More details about the complete tour dates and tickets of his concerts are available on his official website.
