*NSYNC frontman Justin Timberlake was reportedly arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, on June 18, 2024, for driving while intoxicated.

The 43-year-old singer was charged with a count of driving while intoxicated and cited for two traffic violations. His mugshot has since been released and was publicly ridiculed on social media, especially because of his bloodshot eyes after being arrested.

Eventually, the singer was released without bail on Tuesday morning. As of this writing, Timberlake's team has yet to address the recent controversial arrest.

Unbeknownst to many, Timberlake has a history of drug usage, as he once admitted to getting "completely plastered" with drugs 18 years before his arrest.

"I've done way too many drugs already. I've already inhaled and I've already ... who knows?" Timberlake told Observer Music Monthly in 2006, as reported by Today. "I'm just like everyone else, I get completely plastered, I've done my fair share of drugs and I've been caught places with my pants down."

Timberlake's confidence was higher at the time, as he pointed out that he just "makes sure there are no cameras around."

The Daily Mail insider said Timberlake was eating out with friends at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor when the cops spotted him.

"[Timberlake] was out to dinner with friends, and cop cars were stationed outside the restaurant like most nights," the insider spilled. "They look for people who are leaving after midnight who might have been drinking."

The resurfaced history of drug and alcohol usage came after his controversial New York arrest. Page Six reported additional details about the interaction of the arresting officer.

At one point, Timberlake's friends told the cops to let the 10x Grammy-winning singer go. Notably, the arresting officer was so young that he did not recognize Timberlake at all.

"He didn't recognize him or his name," one of the insiders revealed. "Justin said under his breath, 'This is going to ruin the tour.' The cop replied, 'What tour?' Justin said, 'The world tour.'"

Although Timberlake maintained that he only had one martini, the complaint listed him as someone who "was unable to divide attention," having "slowed speech," "unsteady afoot, and even "performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests."

A court date for Timberlake has been set for July 26, 2024, but the outlet reported that Timberlake will not have to attend the hearing.
