Remy Ma's son, Jayson Scott, was arrested and charged following a shooting incident that took place in 2021.
According to Page Six, the rapper's son was charged with first-degree murder for the shooting of Darius Guillebeaux three years ago. He was reportedly detained on Tuesday with Richard Swygert, another man involved in the case.
In addition, Scott was also charged with second-degree murder, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon.

On the other hand, Swygert was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
The rapper spoke to the outlet via Scott's lawyer, Dawn Florio, following her son's arrest, saying that her family stands by her son's innocence and they're praying that the New York Police Department will conduct a thorough investigation to reveal the truth.
"This is undoubtedly a difficult time for my family and me. While we sincerely appreciate the love and support we have received from all of you, we kindly ask for privacy as our legal team works to prove JaySon's innocence," Remy Ma added.

The rapper added that she wanted to address the situation personally, but his legal team advised her to remain silent as this is true for other people in the same situations.
As of this writing, it's unclear how long the rapper's son would spend behind bars.
In a report published by NY Daily News in 2021, Darius Guillebeaux was confronted by two men who opened fire. He was struck multiple times in the head and chest.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, but it was too late as he died.
Guillebeaux was an ex-convict as he served three terms in state prison due to selling drugs and robbery. He was released in 2017 after spending four years behind bars. In total, he reportedly had 13 arrests on his record.
It's unclear if Remy Ma had a good relationship with her son, but he appeared in an episode of Love and Hip Hop in 2016. He then walked his mom down the aisle for her second wedding to Papoose.
Aside from Scott, the rapper is also a mom to her daughter Reminisce, whom she welcomed with her husband in 2018.
