Rapper Ty Dolla $ign has addressed his relationship with embattled rapper Kanye West amid their collaboration on Vultures 1.

In an interview with Billboard, Ty Dolla opened up about his friendship with West, who has since been subjected to numerous controversies in the past years, including lawsuits targeting his behavior and character.

"Ye is the best artist of this generation, besides me, and I don't give a f*** about what people were talking about," Ty Dolla $ign confirmed. "I know my n**** He's one of the best people I've ever met."

According to the rapper, he was never worried that West's statements and issues would affect the success of their joint collaborative album, Vultures 1.

"Just with my analysis of how it goes with him, he goes all the way to the top," he added. "And something may happen and he'll say [something people find offensive] - and then people [get] right back, you know. Because this s*** is undeniable."

As expected, the album still topped the Billboard 200 albums chart in its debut week. The album was only the first part of the reported trilogy of albums from the two rappers.

On the other hand, Vultures 2 was supposed to be released in March 2024 but was indefinitely delayed.

"We got all the songs," Ty Dolla $ign revealed. "Basically, it's just like, 'How can we get it there? How can we go bigger than the first album?'

According to the rapper, they're seriously considering releasing the song directly to consumers and avoiding releasing it on streaming services.

When it was released in February 2024, Vultures 1 had a streaming hiccup. Apple Music removed it from its music streaming platform at the time. Billboard reported that the album distribution company FUGA was planning to remove the album from streaming.

"Late last year, FUGA was presented with the opportunity to release Vultures 1," a FUGA spokesperson told Billboard. "Exercising our judgment in the ordinary course of business, we declined to do so."

However, the album was delivered to the platform's automated process, violating their service agreement. Because of this, the course of action was to remove the album from the platform; only for it to return to the platform a few days later.

As of this writing, the album is still live on the platform.
