The long wait is over! After fans theorized that Charli XCX's new song "Girl, so confusing" was about Lorde, the two are now collaborating on the track's remix version, seemingly ending what fans thought was a feud.
The pop star first teased the collaboration during a TikTok live stream in which a mural on a massive wall could be seen Lorde's name. Initially, she didn't provide any context behind the wall art, but she later took to her private Instagram account to share a teaser that the New Zealand artist would appear on a new version of "Girl, so confusing."
After her latest album Brat dropped, many fans alleged that the song was about Lorde as the lyrics go, "People say we're alike/ They say we've got the same hair/ We talk about making music/ But I don't know if it's honest."

During the beginning of their careers, the two artists have often been mistaken for each other because of their looks.
In a previous interview with Rolling Stone UK, Charli admitted that she was jealous of Lorde when "Royals" became a massive hit, saying, "When 'Royals' came out, I was super jealous of the success that that song got, and that Ella got."

She added that Lorde had big hair and wore black lipstick as she did, and the success could've also happened to her, but she realized they had completely different music.
Months later, she was able to recover from what she felt, explaining, "You get over it and then you try to figure out all the things that are unique about you and you pursue that, and then probably in five months' time you have a breakdown about something else."
The two became good friends, and Lorde even expressed her love for the pop singer when her new record dropped, taking to Instagram to share her thoughts about the record.
The issue has been long resolved as the "Solar Power" songstress attended the English singer's concert in New York City.
More recently, Charli XCX played Lorde's song "Green Light" at one of her DJ sets.
The remix version of "Girl, so confusing" will be released on Thursday at midnight.
In other updates about Lorde, the singer has been teasing about new music, but she has yet to share more details about her next studio album.
