Sources close to Justin Timberlake confirmed to TMZ that he was not intoxicated and was reportedly sober during a performance in Las Vegas weeks before his DWI arrest in New York.

The resurfaced video, which was captured during his Forget Tomorrow World Tour at the T-Mobile Arena in May 2024, had people speculating online if he was intoxicated when he performed at the time.

The sources slammed people's criticism of Timberlake's "bloodshot" eyes during the performance, saying that it was "simply being over-analyzed way too much" by people "looking to unfairly condemn the guy."

The insiders even claimed that Timberlake "wasn't even close" to that state of mind, being intoxicated, as opposed to what people on the internet have suggested. They were also confident that Timberlake is "always focused and clear-headed at all his shows," including his recent shows and the one questioned performance.

"Wow, this is really sad, he looks completely gorked.. I hope he gets help," a user said on TikTok after seeing Timberlake's viral performance in May 2024.

"Alcohol is a real thing. I Feel this," a netizen attested.

"I have a video of him like this from his performance (on my profile). When I saw him in person and rewatched, I was like dang! His eyes are bugging. Didnt know if it was tour lighting or something else," a third person echoed others' sentiments.

However, not everyone believes he was intoxicated during the said performance.

"maybe he's just tired with everything going on he probably hasn't had any sleep he just needs some rest maybe a sleep aid and he'll be fine," another fan defended.

"I was there in this section and he walked right past me. His eyes were not bloodshot at all and he didn't look like he was on anything. He gave an amazing performance and spoke to the crowd clearly," one said.

Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, for driving while intoxicated on June 17, 2024. The arresting police officer also described Timberlake's eyes as "bloodshot" after apprehending him.

"It was ascertained that the defendant was operating said vehicle in an intoxicated condition in that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests," the police report read, as quoted by Billboard.
