Billy Ray Cyrus is defending himself against his estranged wife's attacks after her recent interview. In return, the Grammy-winning singer issued a cryptic one-word declaration against her.

On June 30, 2024, Cyrus posted a video on his Instagram Stories of a gold picture frame with the word "Fraud" in it. Under the word, a candle flickered beneath as rose petals floated everywhere.

Notably, that wasn't the first time that the singer has cryptically shared messages against his wife on Instagram.

Earlier that day, Cyrus shared a photograph of himself in a motorcycle behind a dog. He captioned the photo, "Happy Sunday everybody! Don't believe I've ever heard the word LIAR this much on Sunday morning. I'm sure very soon the truth will be revealed."

Cyrus's growing sentiment seemingly came from his wife's recent interview with Page Six.

According to the Australian singer, Cyrus had kicked him out of their marital home on the same day she was scheduled to get a double mastectomy. She also revealed that Cyrus had "very strict rules,"

"I didn't have a car. I was only allowed to go to the local chiropractor and allowed once a month to get my nails done ... it was systematic isolation and I couldn't find the courage to leave," Firerose added. "If I had to send a text, I had to read it out to him for permission. It was the same for email."

Cyrus quietly filed the divorce papers on May 22, 2024. According to court documents obtained by People, Cyrus listed "irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct" as the reason for their divorce.

Notably, Cyrus also requested an annulment on the grounds of fraud. Sources close to Cyrus revealed to People that the Country singer is separating from Firerose because "she isn't the person he thought he married."

"He believes that she married for other reasons but love," the insider alleged. "He believes she married him so he can take care of her financially. They've had drama and trust issues about money."

On June 14, 2024, TMZ obtained legal documents showing that Firerose had spent the amount across 37 unauthorized charges during the period. Per the report, Firerose used Cyrus' business American Express card, which was revealed that she was never authorized to use or handle.

Cyrus then sought a temporary restraining order against Firerose, preventing her from using credit cards under his name. He even demanded in the filing that Firerose pay him the entire amount.
