Couples often start their relationships by being friends or going out on dates, similar to what Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian had before they became romantically involved. The musician revealed that one of the similarities before their relationship was their health-consciousness, strengthening their connection.

In a recent interview with People magazine, the Blink-182 drummer revealed that he and his now-wife began being workout buddies as they exercised together, and he considers this "one of the main reasons we were so close."

"We would always work out together and run together or do stuff like that together before we were ever in a relationship - we were workout buddies forever. It was what started it all," he added.

Before they dated, they still found time to "carve out a half hour or an hour every day" to work out despite having busy careers. Barker is a musician, while Kardashian is a businesswoman and a reality TV star; they also have children of their own.

Aside from their physical activities, they also love sharing recipes and concocting something in the kitchen, like the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star's avocado shake.

"I introduced her to matcha back in the day. She's introduced me to particular foods... It's amazing to be with someone that has the same love for wellness," he added.

Barker and Kardashian, who were previously neighbors, started dating in 2020. They took their relationship to another level as they got married in 2022. Today, they share a son named Rocky Thirteen.

In addition to sharing recipes, the mom of four also helped the drummer overcome one of his biggest fears: flying.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times in a previous interview, the musician revealed that the 2008 plane crash that he was involved in had a massive impact on his life. Even though he survived the horrifying incident, he was left with third-degree burns that covered 65% of his body.

Over the next 13 years, Barker admitted that he avoided flying, but Kardashian helped him recover from his fears.

"I think the power of love really helped me... Kourt made it so I fly, my kids fly now. She healed us," he said.
