Patti LaBelle is a living legend. She has released countless records that the public loves and celebrates. This year, the iconic musician is celebrating her 65th year in the music industry, but despite her being 80 years young, it seems like she won't stop performing anytime soon.
The singer's career began in the 1960s as the frontwoman of the group Patti Labelle & the Bluebelles, which later became the musical trio LaBelle in the 1980s. Later, she parted ways with her bandmates Sarah Dash and Nona Hendryx to pursue a solo career.
In an interview with Billboard, the musician was asked if she ever envisioned having a 65-year career. She answered that three of her sisters passed away before they turned 50, so she was only hoping to make it past that age. Fortunately, the singer did, and she considers it a "miracle."
"God has given me grace and I'm still here. And to say that I'm still here at 80, still doing what I did when I was 20, 30 and 40 ... it's another blessing," she said.

More than six decades in the business is no joke, and many people have been wondering if LaBelle would consider retiring, given her age. Still, she noted in the interview that retirement is not in her book, and she would continue her career regardless.
"I'm going to keep on going. There's no reason to stop unless you just can't do anything anymore, right? And how can you retire from something you love?" she declared.
When asked where she gets her energy from, the legendary musician immediately credited "God," but she clarified that she doesn't feel good all the time, as there are moments when her body feels sore.
LaBelle also reveals that she continues to be active, saying she takes a dip in her pool, but clarified that she couldn't swim. However, she would just "kick." In addition, she also walks her dogs and moves her body to do the things that will help her.
The singer is gearing up for her tour, which will kick off at the Tulalip Amphitheatre in Tulalip, WA, on July 19, 2024. She will visit cities like Biloxi, Primm, Knoxville, Memphis, Rio Rancho, and many more.
Her complete tour dates and ticket details are available on Live Nation's website.
