AllHipHop reported that Young Thug's lawyer, Brian Steel, wanted to kick out two judges and prosecutors on the rapper's high-profile RICO YSL trial.

In legal documents obtained by the outlet, Steel wanted Judge Rachel Krause to recuse herself from handling the case while challenging Judge Ural Glanville's dismissal.

According to Steel, Glanville cooperated with the prosecution in coercing witness Kenneth Copeland to testify against Young Thug. Since then, Glanville paused the trial and asked Krause to rule whether Glanville should step down as the presiding judge on the trial.

However, Steel questioned Krause's impartiality in ruling Glanville's case as the latter contributed to the former's reelection campaign in 2024.

"This Motion also timely moves to recuse the Honorable Judge Krause based upon the fact that she sits on the Fulton County Superior Court Bench with Judge Glanville and that in April 2024, Judge Glanville contributed two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars to the Honorable Judge Krause's reelection campaign," Steel wrote in a new filing obtained by the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. "Mr. Williams' trial has been ongoing since January 4, 2023 and therefore includes April 2024."

In addition to Glanville and Krause, Steel also wanted Fulton County prosecutors Adriane Love and Simone Hylton removed from the case should Glanville be dismissed.

Thugger's lawyer claimed that Love and Hylton "prejudiced and tainted" the trial by privately meeting with Copeland in June 2024 - the specific incident Steel accused Glanville of being involved in.

"Mr. Williams' trial is Constitutionally broken based upon the unconscionable misconduct of Judge Glanville, lawyer Love and lawyer Hylton, all working together in an effort to convict Mr. Williams," Steel argued in the same motion.

Glanville previously held Steel in contempt after accusing him of coercing Copeland. Glanville was "furious" at Steel's revelation and demanded that he reveal how he found out about the meeting. Steel then rebuffed Glanville's request to reveal his source and asked for a mistrial. The judge held Steel in contempt, and he was arrested out of the courtroom. Eventually, Steel's co-counsel, Keith Adams, asserted and objected to the trial moving forward without Steel.

In May 2022, Young Thug was among the 28 associates of the alleged YSL Records (Young Slime Life Gang) indicted in a 56-count RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) Act indictment by the Fulton County District Attorney's office in Atlanta.
