Sources with knowledge of Timothée Chalamet's upcoming Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, have shared insights that shed a different light on the actor.

Anticipation is high for Chalamet's portrayal of Bob Dylan in the upcoming biopic despite the controversy surrounding his behavior during filming.

The movie dives into Dylan's early years and has the full support of the legendary singer-songwriter and executive producer.

The 28-year-old singer's performance is under scrutiny as he steps into the shoes of such an iconic figure, particularly after receiving varied feedback for his previous role in Wonka.

Despite his reputation for portraying emotionally complex characters and resonating with the younger generation, reports suggest that Chalamet exhibited "diva" behavior on set.

Those involved in the production divulged that Chalamet exhibited "hyper-paranoia," and enforced strict rules while on set.

A crew member told the Daily Mail, "[Chalamet] was hyper-paranoid. We were not allowed to make eye contact with him or introduce ourselves."

Reportedly, this heightened sense of paranoia led to crew members being prohibited from using cell phones in his vicinity despite the devices being essential for their work duties.

In one instance, the Call Me by Your Name actor was said to have reacted strongly to being accidentally caught on camera during a solar eclipse.

An individual from the team shared with the outlet, "Just 20 minutes later, Chalamet reportedly forced the movie's producers to send a strongly-worded email to the entire cast and crew prohibiting 'all cell use' near the leading man."

Additionally, another insider mentioned, "The production assistant panicked that she was going to get fired," following security personnel deleting all images from her phone."

Biopic director James Mangold is also controversial as crew members alleged that he created a hostile work environment. Accusations ranged from derogatory comments to instances of physical aggression directed at production assistants.

During filming, the Dune actor stood out as the lone individual unaffected by Mangold's rumored mistreatment.

The insider said, "The director worshipped the ground that Chalamet walked on because it's his star power that bankrolled the film."

"On the last day of shooting, Mangold gave a speech all about Chalamet, and how inspired and moved the crew was by his performance and didn't thank any crewmembers, just Chalamet."

Meanwhile, Searchlight Pictures, the film production company responsible for the biopic, responded to the accusations to the outlet.

"These allegations are largely inaccurate and overstated. However, fostering a respectful and professional environment on set is something we take very seriously."

Upon learning of Chalamet's diva behavior on the set, one X user said, "No surprise at all dat when u date a Kardashian u eventually turn in2 ragin diva. Insiders reveal cruel 'frat-boy behavior' on the set of Timothee Chalamet's new Bob Dylan biopic and how the star 'cursed-out' a terrified young assistant."

On Reddit, one person wrote, "No eye contact? Celebs are so deranged," while another added, "You literally train people to stare at you, for a job. I get people staring at you IRL is unpleasant but I recommend not becoming an actor if you hate it so much?"

A fourth person said, "Not surprised by this at all. People that went to school with him had similar things to say about him a few years back. Everyone can't be lying."

However, some came to Chalamet's defense.

One person wrote on the same thread, "When you're trying to work and get into character, I can imagine that people staring at all times will break the illusion you're trying to build with character. Or make them self-conscious that they better not mess anything up in front anyone. Chalamet lives in a world where he can't take one step outside without it being recorded."

Another said, "Having a hard time believing this based on other set stories I've heard about him. I never thought he'd be the method actor type."
