Criticism has been directed at Taylor Swift over her being an enthusiastic supporter of her boyfriend Travis Kelce at his NFL games.
This stemmed from comedian Bill Maher's comments on Monday's episode of his "Club Random" podcast.
Maher publicly scrutinized Swift and Kelce's dynamic and how they have demonstrated their support for each other's careers since they began dating last year.
Maher's peculiar criticism targeted the 14-time Grammy winner's choice to attend Kelce's NFL matches clad in his team's vibrant colors.
"I'm sure she's a lovely person, but the whole thing with the football player. I just felt like 35 was a little old to be like, 'My boyfriend's a football player and I wear his jersey to the game with his number on it!' I mean, come on," the "Real Time" star said.
Swift and Kelce went public with their romance in September 2023 when she supported the tight end at a Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium.
From then on, the couple appeared to be joined at the hip. The athlete started making frequent appearances at Swift's "Eras Tour" shows, much like how she regularly showed up at his games and the Super Bowl.
They were even caught taking a break from the "Lover" singer's shows in Europe, exploring various Italian villas that were up for sale.
But while the couple's romance seems to be going strong, Maher was adamant that Kelce will end their relationship in time.
The 68-year-old predicted on his podcast, "He's gonna dump her, though, you know that."
"With her, it's like the Gatorade at the Super Bowl, you know you're gonna get dumped. You just don't know when," he added of the pop superstar.
However, his guest, "Hawk Tuah Girl" Haley Welch, remained optimistic.
"You gotta think about it this way, if he does that, can you imagine the next album we're gonna get off of that?" she told Maher.
The 21-year-old then pointed to Swift's hit "Dear John" and remarked: "It won't be 'F**k John Mayer' no more, it will be 'F**k Travis.'"
Maher also criticized Swift for repeatedly drawing inspiration from her former boyfriends and past relationships for her music.
"It does seem like such a recurrent theme. At some point, you just wanna say, 'Maybe you should write a song called 'Maybe It's Me,'" he quipped.
