Snoop Dogg Talks Friendship With Late Queen Elizabeth Who 'Was a Fan' of His Music: 'That Was My Girl'

Snoop Dogg recently detailed his bond with the late Queen Elizabeth II, calling her "my girl."

During a July 23 interview on the U.K. radio station Capital FM, Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., and host Jordan North, talked about the rapper's royal connections while drinking tea at the elegant Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel in London.

"I'll go by [Buckingham Palace], see if they let me in," Snoop told North after being asked about his plans while in the country.

North responded, "Well, I've heard the future king, William, is a huge Snoop fan."

"Well, the Queen was a fan too," the "Drop It Like It's Hot" rapper said, adding, "Rest in peace to the Queen, that was my girl. You know what I'm saying? So, just may want to go up and, you know, see what you do."

"I'm pretty sure you could go to the palace -- you're Snoop Dogg, you can do anything you want," North responded.

Snoop previously revealed to The Guardian that Queen Elizabeth II -- who died in 2022 -- had stepped in to stop his deportation from the U.K. in the '90s.

While he was on tour in the country in 1994, there were calls for him to be deported as he was facing murder charges in Los Angeles. The charges were later dismissed.

Snoop shared that when certain people tried to kick him out of England, the late queen said her "grandbabies" Prince William and Prince Harry "loved" him. According to the rapper, Queen Elizabeth defended him and said that he "had done no wrong in the U.K.," resulting in him being allowed to continue performing in the country.

Discussing Prince William and Prince Harry, Snoop told the publication, "They love my music, and it is what it is. There's a mutual love and respect."
