Conan O'Brien's uber entertaining George Harrison Week came into its third night during last night's episode and featured the famed Beatle's son, Dhani Harrison, along with some of his "friends."
Before sitting down with the talk show host, Dhani Harrison & Friends played a version of Harrison's "Let It Down" that nearly brought down the house.
Taking to the CONAN stage on both guitar and vocals, Harrison performed what he would later admit was the first ever live performance of "Let It Down." "So you can't tell if it's bad," he later joked.
Back by those aforementioned "friends" and a few members of the Basic Cable Band, including guitarist Jimmy Vivino and horn player Mark Pender, the group roared through an incredible version of the tune.
Check it out below:
Following the performance, the 36-year-old artist joined O'Brien on the couch, discussing what goes into preserving his father's legacy, which Harrison calls a "labor of love."
The two then chatted on what being a Harrison these days means to a certain Los Angeles Police Department officer. Apparently not too much ... but mentioning Conan O'Brien will get you out of a ticket. So, as Harrison said, "Pull the Conan card. It works!"
The TBS host later announced a bonus performance from the band that was only available online. Watch "Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll)" here.
As Music Times has previously reported, O'Brien's George Harrison Week is all in an attempt to promote the late Beatle's newly released George Harrison: The Apple Years 1968-75, which is available now.
The week of tributes will end tonight, with Norah Jones coming to the Team Coco set to close it out.
