A$AP Mob Cancels Collaboration Album, A$AP Yams Confirms Other Solo Projects

It looks like the collaboration album Lord by members of A$AP Mob has been shelved for the time being.

A$AP Yams took to Tumblr recently for a Q&A with fans and haters alike, disclosing that the album slated for a September release had been scrapped, NME notes. The rapper was able to confirm that pal A$AP Rocky's next batch of new material would be released "very soon." He then tweeted out that A$AP Nast's next album will be out in October.

A$AP Yams went on to tease a possible collaboration with A$AP Rocky and Schoolboy Q, but nothing has been confirmed on that yet. When asked if A$AP Rocky would ever drop another "terrible track" like 2013's partnership with Skrillex on "Wild for the Night," A$AP Yams said not a chance - he personally wasn't a fan of the song and said the only reason it was included on Long.Live.A$AP was due to "label politics." The rapper admitted that the track is a popular one to perform at festivals, but he assured fans that he is giving A$AP Rocky "raw trunk music" to work on this time around.

A$AP Rocky leaked two songs from his yet-to-be-released instrumental work Beauty and the Beast - Slowed Down Sessions Ch. 1 earlier this year, sampling Tame Impala's "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" for his song, "Unicorn."

In an interview from 2013, A$AP Rocky talked about his craft. "How do you call me just a swag rapper?" he asked Pitchfork. "When I started, I was 23 years old directing my own music videos; I'm co-producing on my album; I'm hands-on with everything. I'm more than just a pretty boy: I'm an artist. I'm not saying I'm a hip-hop music artist, I'm an artiste."
