'The Real Housewives of Atlanta's NeNe Leakes Is Reportedly The Top Choice To Replace Joan Rivers On 'Fashion Police'

The Real Housewives of Atlanta's top dog NeNe Leakes might be getting a new gig. It was announced earlier this month that E!'s Fashion Police will indeed return in spite of the death of Joan Rivers and that means that the show needs to hire someone to round out the panel. While filling Rivers heels would be nearly impossible, the show has apparently used this as a chance to go in a completely different direction and add some ethnic diversity as well. The network reportedly loves Leakes' ability to throw out zingers on demand and she is currently their front running choice.

Fashion Police is set to return early next year, just in time for coverage of The Golden Globes and apparently not everyone was in favor of its' return. Melissa Rivers, the executive producer of the show, firmly believes that her mother would want it to continue and that is the main reason why it will return in a few months. As for Leakes, she is used to being in front of the camera, both for her stint as a reality television housewife and also because she has had regular roles on shows such as Glee.

Leakes also launched a clothing line for HSN that sold out almost immediately. In other words when it comes to fashion, she has also made her own kind of imprint in that world as well. The only other name that seemed to be seriously circulating for this gig is Kathy Griffin's. The comedienne obviously has no problem speaking her mind and she was also friends with Joan so that could make her a bit of a sentimental choice for producers.

What do you think about Leakes perhaps joining Fashion Police? It's obvious that her built-in Bravolebrity audience would probably follow her to at least check out the show but is she the best woman for the job? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
