June Shannon really has unraveled her family business in just a few short weeks. It only took TLC a day or two to decide to cancel Here Comes Honey Boo Boo after photos of Shannon cavorting with her convicted sex offender ex, Mark McDaniel, surfaced. While she has insisted that the truth will eventually come out and it'll be on her side, things as of now seem to be pretty dismal. One thing that has been pretty amazing is TLC's treatment of the rest of Shannon's family. Sure, they packed up their lights and quickly removed all filming equipment from the house but they also have confirmed that the family will still get paid for a season that will now never air.
According to a source with TMZ, the network is extremely concerned about the well-being of Shannon's daughters and so on top of offering them counseling, they also intend to make sure that they, as well as Mike Thompson (aka Sugar Bear), will be paid promptly and in full. Meanwhile, Shannon's check is going to be significantly less that what was originally negotiated. Apparently TLC is hanging their hat on a morality clause in Shannon's contract that is quite easily violated by dating a child molester and endangering her children by having him around them. Photos have surfaced of McDaniel with Shannon's youngest daughter, Alana Thompson, something that left fans of the family completely concerned for her safety.
Do you think that Shannon will dare to protest her dramatically slashed final pay check from TLC? What are your thoughts on how the network has treated the rest of Shannon's family? Do you think they have bent over backwards to accommodate them or are they taking the kind of steps that they should for the greater good here? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
