It has come time for Justin Bieber to pay the piper - or rather his neighbor. According to Billboard, the pop star was ordered by the Los Angeles Superior Court to complete five days of community service, attend 12 anger management sessions and pay $80,900 to repair damage to his neighbor's Calabasas home, which he got in trouble for egging earlier this year and was charged with one count of misdemeanor vandalism.
Bieber's attorney Shawn Holley says he is scheduled to finish his sentence by early next year. His case will be called again on February 10, 2015 before which time Bieber must complete his community service and anger management treatments.
The 20-year-old singer was not present at today's (Nov. 10) hearing though his attorney says he has already paid restitution, completed six anger management classes, and is in the process of doing his six days of community labor. Bieber will remain on probation until 2016.
According to TMZ, he will complete his community service at MusiCares, a foundation that helps musicians struggling with health, addiction, and other issues. Their sources say he will be "doing this like painting walls and moving office furniture" but won't be teaching music to anyone.
As TMZ notes, those required to do community labor typically perform services such as picking up trash on the road and highways, removing graffiti, or cleaning up beaches. However, due to Bieber's high profile, it would be impossible for him to perform those tasks without causing commotion from paparazzi and fans. Therefore, he has been granted permission to use MusiCares to fulfill his requirements, as there is a precedent for it.
It's possible that Bieber is ready to put his bad boy days behind him. On Saturday, he paid a visit to the Pittsburgh Steelers' bible study. It is unclear why he was present, but it's one of the first non-music related headlines we've seen in a while that didn't have to do with his legal issues.
