Download, possibly the world's largest (or at least most renowned) purely rock festival, has completed its announcement of headliners for next year's event, which will take place over the weekend of June 12-14 next year in Donington. Slipknot, Muse and KISS are set to be the last acts of their respective nights, according to The Guardian.
Slipknot has already headlined the massive festival before but it will actually be the first time at the top of the bill for Muse, a more local band (relatively). KISS formerly headlined the Monsters of Rock Festival that previously took place at the location during 1988 and 1996 but this will be the band's first time under the "Download" title.
Slipknot will headline on Friday, supported on the main stage by heavy metal icons Judas Priest and fellow American "new wave" metal act Five Finger Death Punch. Rockers Black Stone Cherry will headline the second stage that night.
Muse will take top billing on Saturday, with Faith No More and A Day To Remember (The UK has always been a hotspot for metalcore acts, meaning juicier lineup spots). Marilyn Manson will headline the second stage.
Sunday probably takes the cake in terms of headliners, with KISS ending the festival following performances from Motley Crue and Slash (along with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators). British alt-metalcore-whathaveyou act Enter Shikari will wrap things up on the second stage. Although Download is the latest Crue date listed right now officially, the band plans on making its final stand during early 2016...so don't worry. The band won't go out on an opening gig.
More acts will be announced as the dates approach.
