It's never too late to pursue your goals, especially if you've already achieved and mastered one. Singer Monica recently took to social media to show off her new career in forensics. Following the post, many fans began to speculate that she was working as a nurse because of the scrubs she wore.
She shared the photo on her Instagram account along with the caption, "I have other dreams and aspirations so I pursue them when my babies are asleep and my musics done!"
According to TheGrio, the "So Gone" songstress clarified that she hasn't actually been working as a nurse in the following statement:
I'm not studying to be a nurse. I have a great respect for nurses. Especially seeing first hand all that they do & how they selflessly give of themselves. It is mandatory that we wear scrubs in my field as well. I've always had an interest in forensics. In my field we focus on giving the family much needed answers and closure in the event that they lose a loved one. I enjoy helping families during one of the most difficult times in their life. Thanks for checking with me. My post was never intended to be misleading. It was meant to just be encouraging because some days it's just not easy but it's all possible if u stay encouraged & believe.
Aside from her newfound science career, Monica recently learned to play the guitar, which she also shared on Instagram. No word on when to expect new music but it was recently announced that Ariana Grande and Jessie J will cover her "The Boy Is Mine" duet with Brandy. As previously reported, the "Bang Bang" singers will rework and cover the song for a 20th anniversary project from the song's original producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins. The remake will be a part of a new compilation album that will feature "originals as well as reimagined hits."
Stay tuned for more updates and kudos to Monica to pursuing her dreams!
