Morrissey Leaves Stage After Fan Hurls Insult, Remarks May Have Been Cancer Related [WATCH]

Morrissey is a fragile performer. When things don't go right, the former Smiths frontman has been known to abandon gigs. Recently, the World Peace is None of Your Business singer stormed off stage in Warsaw, Poland after being insulted by a fan. He had only been performing for 25 minutes at that point.

A Live Nation representative explained that the show was cut short because a fan "said extremely offensive and chauvinistic words at the artist," The Daily Mail reports. The remarks were possibly in regard to the singer's recent cancer diagnosis, but those reports have not been confirmed.

One fan expressed their frustration with the incident, having traveled from London for the show.

"Someone shouted out something about him having cancer and he asked security to remove him," the fan said. "And then he just walked off stage and didn't come back. I paid 50 quid for this ticket, not to mention the flight and hotel, for just 25 minutes. "I am completely gutted. How could he be so disrespectful towards his fans."

Consequence of Sound found some video footage from the show where you can hear one fan shout, "Shut up and sing," before Morrissey leaves the stage. Someone then comes onstage to tell the crowd that Moz left because he felt unsafe. The action starts around the 8:40 mark. You can view it here.

Morrissey revealed that he received treatments for cancer last month.

"They have scraped cancerous tissues from me four times already, but who cares. If I die, then I die," he said. "And if not, then I don't. Right now I feel good. I am aware that in recent photos I look unwell, but that is what illness does. I'm not going to worry about that, I'll rest when I'm dead."
