Madeon Releases 'You're On' Ft. Kyan; Reveals Album Details [REVIEW]

Madeon's highly anticipated new single "You're On" featuring the vocals of Los Angeles based musician and singer Kyan has been released on iTunes via Sony. He was silent over the past month and a half since his latest release "Imperium," leading fans to wonder where the quiet French producer had gone. He then surprised his fans with an Instagram photo revealing the cover art for "You're On" with the release date in cryptic fashion. He previewed a short 15-second clip a few days later to give fans a short teaser of what was to come today. Now the full track is out on iTunes.

The first single from his 2015 album, Madeon delivers one of his most organic and vocal driven tracks to date. As he stated in a tweet last week, "You're On" was heavily influenced by pop vocals. He produced three songs for Lady Gaga's Art Pop album and went on tour with her last summer. He also produced a song for Ellie Goulding "Stay Awake."

"You're On" finds a great balance between his own carefully crafted instrumental and the catchy, pop / R&B vocals from Kyan. It is the first time we have seen a solo Madeon song that has such a focus on vocals; a welcome addition to the discography for an artist who has primarily been making instrumental tracks his entire career under his own name. Madeon brings to the table his vintage glitchy and cheery melodies that mesh with the soaring vocal of Kyan.

"You're On" is the second single from his upcoming artist album, which he told Coco Cole of Capital Xtra, "I've tried to not just do DJ music," Madeon revealed to Coco. "It's not just club tracks. It's songs and music that touches me, that uses electronic elements but that tries to go beyond the DJ role format." Madeon took to Twitter earlier today to unveil the name of his artist album, which will be titled Adventure. No word on the release date, but the details are starting to come together for what should be one of the genres most hotly anticipated LPs in 2015.
