Despite all the drama swirling around Lil Wayne, Tha Carter V and his relationship with Cash Money Records, the "Believe Me" rapper is still hard at work making new music. According to reports, Lil Wayne is recording a mixtape in lieu of his indefinitely delayed final album Tha Carter V. An Instagram picture posted online by Young Money rapper Fee Banks shows Lil Wayne in the studio with four individuals including — of all people — NBA player Glen "Big Baby" Davis, saying simply "Sorry 4 The Wait 2." Mack Maine also dropped another hint about Sorry for the Wait 2 in a follow-up Instagram post, tagging it in a picture of the hulk, lending to the belief that the follow-up mixtape to Sorry for the Wait is in the works now.
Mack Maine took to the airwaves recently to try and clear the air on the whole situation regarding Lil Wayne, Cash Money and Tha Carter V, via Billboard.
"It's just some business that's gon' need to be handled. Once that's handled we're going to keep moving. And it's getting handled as we speak," he said.
He continued, "Everybody has their breaking point, maybe [Wayne] reached his breaking point. I support Wayne 1,000 percent. I feel like this matter will get resolved. Period. If I'm still around it'll be resolved."
It has been a very fuild situation where both sides have started to air out their dirty laundry in public and the relationship has soured fast, despite the assurances of some. If Mack Maine is to be believed that the album will arrive in the first quarter of 2015, then Sorry for the Wait 2 will be here soon.
