Since being released from jail in July, Chris Brown dropped a new album, performed at some awards shows, made a cameo at the ESPYs, and started and squashed beefs, among other things. However, trouble seems to just follow the guy. In August, Suge Knight was shot multiple times at his Party in Los Angeles and earlier this month, five people were shot at a private party, where he was performing in San Jose. Now the "Loyal" crooner's probation has been revoked in connection to the recent nightclub shooting. By performing out of Los Angeles County, Brown violated a provision in his probation forbidding him to leave the area. Brown also has yet to complete his 200 hours of community service, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Brown was not ordered into custody, however, the judge overseeing the case requested another hearing for March 20 to determine Brown's progress and is also asking the probation department to investigate further into the San Jose shooting to establish that Brown had no involvement in the incident.
The singer's probation stems from his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna. He was then jailed for various probation violations, including being dismissed from rehab and getting into an altercation with a man outside a Washington D.C. hotel in October 2013. He served three weeks of a 131-day sentence before his release in July.
The investigation continues into the San Jose nightclub shooting, which left five people suffering from non-fatal bullet wounds. No arrests have yet been made, though the nightclub was slapped with a 60-day suspension of its entertainment permit and liquor license.
Following the shooting, Brown defended his decision to duck for cover.
"None of these bitchass n----- bout that life," the rapper wrote. "The most ignorant n------ ever! This ain't no western. What idiot u know gonna stand there and get shot. Rewind clip to LA when I wasssss the dumb one standing up by myself in the club when people were panicking and ducking for cover. Bullets ain't got no name especially when u got random n------ being n------ fighting in the club. Our society is fucked up in the head and needs leaders. I don't wanna lead a bunch of ignorant motherf--kers. No individuality and having the mind state that positivity and respect is WACK! That's some evil a-- shit."
