Last month, Migos and Bobby Shmurda's GS9 crew announced a joint mixtape called Shmigo Gang, which will feature music from both Migos and their affiliates as well as Shmurda and his affiliates. Now the first two songs off the project have leaked. The first, Migos' "Computer (Freestyle)," was recorded behind bars and features Shmurda on the intro and Rowdy Rebel on the outro. The second cut is a Rich the Kid solo track called "What you Talmbout," HotNewHipHop reports. Check them out here:
No release date has been set for the joint mixtape as Shmurda's and Rowdy Rebel's cases are still pending.
As previously reported, Bobby Shmurda made headway in his current legal situation last week. After being indicted on a variety of charges last year, the Brooklyn rapper, born Ackquille Pollard, has been cleared of his gun charge, which alleged that Pollard had fired a gun at a crowd of people outside a barbershop. In a separate incident, police seized two loaded firearms and narcotics paraphernalia inside a Brooklyn residence. UPDATE: Pollard will still face gun charges.
Although the weapons charges were dropped, Pollard still faces charges of reckless endangerment in the second degree, conspiracy in the second degree, three counts of conspiracy in the third degree, and one count of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia (intent to sell and possession of narcotics). The charges stem from a long-term narcotics investigation run by the NYPD and a designated Brooklyn task force against East Flatbush, Brooklyn crew GS9. Pollard faces up to 25 years if convicted on the conspiracy charges.
Pollard is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 29.
Meanwhile, fellow rapper Rowdy Rebel (born Chad Marshall) is incarcerated for his alleged involvement in a July 2014 shooting that took place before his performance at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. He has been charged with a count of attempted murder in the second degree among 10 other counts ranging from assult to reckless endangerment.
