Calvin Harris has become a successful artist not just in the EDM space, where he has dominated in his own right, but also on the radio, where label executives and A&Rs have clamored for Calvin-Harris-type, dance-pop, crossover hits. That success has led Harris to lofty sales, notably for singles, and a new achievement has just been given to the "Blame" artist -- or at least was supposed to be given to him. Calvin Harris went double platinum for his hit single "Sweet Nothing, featuring the ethereal vocals of Florence Welch of Florence & The Machine, but the plaque was delivered to the wrong address. Deadmau5 took to his favorite medium of communication, social media, to let Calvin know that he had some hardware waiting for him, via Mixmag.
The pair are on the same management roster under 360 / Roc Nation, so maybe the mix-up happened there, but otherwise it seems odd to send something to Canada instead of Los Angeles. They have so many awards that they have probably lost count.
Calvin Harris heads into 2015 on a high note not just with this new plaque, but also as the face of Giorgio Armani's spring and summer collection, a new deal with Hakkasan Group, which will see him earn reportedly $400,000 per gig over three years at their three properties in Las Vegas and a role in the new Entourage movie.
