Stephen Belafonte Is Accused of Holding Wife Mel B Hostage in Their London Home Last Month

Is Mel B's -- aka Melanie Brown's -- marriage of seven years to Stephen Belafonte an absolute disaster? Well, one thing for sure is that the couple has been plagued with several rumors and scandalous allegations since she missed the U.K.'s X Factor finale in December. There have been many twists and turns in the story of what supposedly transpired last month, and now it seems Belafonte is wanted for questioning in London in connection with accusations that he held his wife hostage in their home for four days.

According to a report by The Sun, Mel was falsely imprisoned in her own home until she was hospitalized Dec. 11.

"X Factor judge Mel, 39, was allegedly held hostage at the couple's London home on December 10, the day before she was rushed to hospital after suffering crippling stomach pains. She was kept in, missing the first part of the X Factor finale on December 13. The Metropolitan Police said yesterday: 'We can confirm police in Kensington and Chelsea borough are investigating an allegation of false imprisonment. The allegation was reported on Monday 15 December. We are not prepared to discuss further,'" said the U.K. paper's report.

Here's the thing: Even the circumstances surrounding her hospitalization are murky. First she was rumored to have been abused and was indeed covered with bruises on the final X Factor show. Then there was a story about her being distressed over the state of her marriage and accidentally overdosing. Now we are hearing allegations of false imprisonment, but with Mel herself speaking out and denying that any of these things are true. Someone made a police report though, right?

The only sure thing is the level of dysfunction that seems to be swirling around these two. What do you think the real story is? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
