Another day, another round of Tomorrowland lineup announcements. The last two days saw the ID&T festival announce that the Belgian National Orchestra, renamed the "Symphony Of Unity" and a Sven Vath led vinyl-only stage. Now the Belgium based festival has announced two solo artists who will be performing in 2015. In two Twitter posts, Tomorrowland has invited Swedish superstar Avicii and German underground giant Solomun to perform on Friday, July 24.
Avicii has had a quiet end of 2014 as he recovers from lingering health problems. He has been booked for a slew of festivals so far in 2014, including Future Music Festival Australia and Asia in February and March.
Solomun may be a surprise pick to be among the first four artists announced, but with his incredibly strong 2014 performance and the festival's attempt to try and remain balanced, it makes sense. The move to bring in fellow German Sven Vath and his label Cocoon for an all vinyl stage is an attempt to revive nostalgia among an older generation of dance music fans and has by all accounts been a successful concept at other SFX-owned festivals, Mysteryland and Electric Zoo.
Tomorrowland will begin to fill out the rest of its lineup over the coming days and weeks as more headliners on the main stage and off are announced. Expect some big names to join arguably the largest dance music festival in the world.
