Is it 2002 again? Gas is under $2 a gallon and Missy Elliott is back in the charts. Ever since the Super Bowl, the "Lose Control" rapper has become one of the most talked about figures in music, overshadowing Katy Perry at her own halftime show, despite the excessive fireworks, massive lion and left shark. According to a report by Hot 97 presenter and industry insider Miss Info, Elliott will not be letting this opportunity pass by without having a say in the matter. According to the report, Elliott did something a little different this time, remixing Diplo & Skrillex's single as Jack Ü "Take Ü There" featuring Kiesza.
Miss Info, who reportedly has heard the song, details further that there are two Missy verses in fine form where she puts her full artistic arsenal on display. The remix was apparently recorded before the Super Bowl, thus not something that was manufactured to capitalize on the hype she has garnered since the big show.
Missy's music has seen a huge boost in sales and streams since the Super Bowl. Her streams on Spotify have jumped a whopping 646% vs. Katy Perry's 85% bump. The "Work It" rapper also saw her music surge back up the iTunes chart with three albums -- Miss E... So Addictive, Under Construction and The Cookbook -- all landing in the top 100. The three songs she performed -- "Work It," "Get Ur Freak On" and "Lose Control" -- still sit in the overall songs top 10 as of this writing.
She also had some fun with younger fans that did not know who she was on her Twitter.
