A viral image has gotten many viewers to declare one fan's Jon Bon Jovi tribute tattoo as the "worst music tattoo ever," and that's quite a feat considering the many horrific pieces of ink we've seen. It may even go down as the single worst tattoo in general, as we consider Mr. Cool Ice to be trying too hard.
The unfortunate piece of body art features a typeface that looks as if the tattoo artist was inking the victim with their left hand, similar to the handwriting used on the cover of Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late. Which would make sense for a Drake-themed tattoo, but not at all for a Bon Jovi tribute as the performer has never used such a font on any of his album art (correction: The album art for These Days does feature similar handwriting, written very small and dwarfed by the more normal text used for "BON JOVI").
He certainly didn't use that typeface on Crush, which featured the track "It's My Life," the lyrics to which are now emblazoned upon the victim's arm.
First thing's first: Getting the lyrics "it's my life" inked on you is going to be schlocky no matter how well it's done. Secondly, you're not going to be accused of plagiarism if you get a quote tattooed on you, so you don't have to cite the source. Those things said, if you choose to do either, at least make sure it's done right.
The quote reads "it's is my life" on the arm in the image. Kudos for using the proper form of "it's"...but that really negates the need for the following "is." If that weren't bad enough, the line is attributed to "Jon Bovi." Not Jon Bon Jovi, not even Jon Bon or Jon Jovi, but Jon Bovi."
Users on Reddit were quick to suggest that this couldn't possible be a real thing. The original poster, user "Lolololkokok," confirmed that it was in fact legitimate and her boyfriend's. She shouldn't expect the relationship to last too long now that she's made him the laughingstock of the music tattoo world.
