Kendrick Lamar 'To Pimp A Butterfly' Rumored Tracklist Surfaces Online Ahead Of New Album Release

After Kendrick Lamar revealed the release date of his upcoming new album last Friday and shared his album title and cover art yesterday, a tracklist for To Pimp A Butterfly has surfaced online (via DIY Magazine) with scrawled handwriting reportedly from Lamar's TDE labelmate Schoolboy Q. Note that the tracklist has not yet been shared officially by his camp. If this tracklist is legit, we can expect to hear contributions from Anna Wise, George Clinton, and Pete Rock as well as three extra tracks on the deluxe version of the album. [UPDATE: To Pimp A Butterfly has been released. The tracklist below has been edited to reflect the correct tracklist]

Although originally announced as [Untitled], Lamar revealed the true title and cover art in an Instagram post with the caption saying, "Don't all dogs go to heaven? Don't Gangsta's boogie? Do owl shit stank? Lions, Tigers & Bears. But TO PIMP A BUTTERFLY. Its the American dream n***a...." -- lil Homie."

The album cover is a black-and-white vintage Polaroid of a large group of mostly shirtless black men and children (with one baby and one woman) arranged in a victory stance on the front lawn of the White House. Also on the cover is a white, Ronald Regan-looking judge with two x's over his eyes, appearing to be dead. The cover seems to suggest that perhaps despite decades of racial discrimination, black men will eventually get the justice they deserve.

Ahead of the album's release, Lamar has dropped the tracks "i," "The Blacker The Berry," and an untitled song, which he performed on The Colbert Report.

To Pimp A Butterfly is due out March 23 and will follow-up his critically acclaimed good kid m.A.A.d. city.

We'll likely be hearing soon whether this tracklist is fake or legitimate and will update you as soon as we have confirmation.
