Beck continues to prepare for his epic return to music and the "spiritual successor" to Sea Change with Morning Phase. Today (Jan. 15), a press release announced the album's first single: "Blue Moon."
Clocking in at three minutes, 48 seconds, "Blue Moon" is set to debut on Monday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. The track will then see full impact on Triple-A radio (Adult Album Alernative) stations the following Monday.
"Blue Moon" will be the first official radio single from Morning Phase, Beck's first album since 2008's Modern Guilt.
Morning Phase marks a new phase in Beck's career 20 years after he exploded onto the scene with "Loser." Not only is he returning to form, calling back to Sea Change in both theme and guest musicians, but this album will also be Beck's first with Capitol Records.
Despite "Blue Moon" being the first official radio single from Beck in quite a few years, it isn't the first new song from the legendary alt-rocker. In 2012, he released his notorious sheet music album, the Song Reader, which he has since performed in-full live with a variety of guest performers.
And last year, Beck released three singles: "Defriended," "I Won't Be Long" and "Gimme."
Morning Phase has yet to receive a precise release date but the album is due to drop in February 2014.
