Saturday night will mark the 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony for Joan Jett, Lou Reed, Green Day, Ringo Starr, Stevie Ray Vaughn and other celebrated artists. Along with Reed and Jett, their personal belongings will be inducted into the Hall of Fame collection.
Clothing articles from Jett's 1981 cover of I Love Rock 'n' Roll including the Richard Tyler designed fuchsia jacket and gray t-shirt that read "Bad Girl," will make its way into the exhibit. The guitar Jett dazzled audiences with while she played in The Runaways will also make its way into the Cleveland museum.
The $300 fuchsia blazer was a gift from Joyce Bogart, record executive Neil Bogart's wife, to Joan Jett — her first lavish item of clothing she ever owned, reports Newsday.
One of Reed's guitars and the "Rock and Roll Animal" T-shirt worn in the "Hookywooky" video will also be a part of the demonstration. Phyllis Leibowitz crafted the shirt that was stimulated by the 1974 live album of the same name. Both Reed and Jett have spent their fair share of time in Long Island — Jett, once residing in Long Beach and Reed, who grew up in Freeport.
The soon-to-be inductees will have their belongings alongside other Long Islanders' personal items such as the notebook Billy Joel jotted down lyrics to The Stranger.
Roosevelt's own Public Enemy have been known to donate items including Flavor Flav's unmistakable clock necklaces and Chuck D's black baseball jackets, reports Newsday.
One fourth of the Beatles, Ringo Starr, will finally be inducted to join his three band mates, notes CBS. Catch the 30th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at 8:30 p.m. on April 17.
