Nicki Minaj may have made a Bar Mitzvah for a young man one of the most memorable days of his life. The rapper recently performed in honor of the religious rite of passage for a young man in New York.
In an Instagram post by Minaj yesterday, April 26, the rapper shared some photos of her time at the Bar Mitzvah. In her first post, she shared a picture of her and the young man of the night, Matt, with a caption that read:
"With my new boy toy at his Bar Mitzvah. Hi Matt!...Mazel Tov!..."
The Pinkprint rapper also posted a group shot, with likely very excited young men, to her Instagram account.
"Get a load of these little hunks I met last night @ the Bar Mitzvah...they were very ummm turnT," Minaj said in her caption.
Clips of the big event were posted to the Twitter account @nickiworldnews. One clip showed Minaj performing one of her hits "Super Bass" and in another clip, the rapper is telling the crowd the importance of staying in school and being independent.
"Get an education, stay in school and don't be a slouch or a bum," Minaj insisted. "And Ladies, never let a man have to take care of you. Do you understand me? Be your own woman, be your own person. Do you understand me?"
Minaj has strong views when it comes to women and their success and independence. In a past interview with Complex, the rapper shared details about The Pinkprint album and the multifaceted nature of women.
"Every woman has a switch, whether she's going to be maternal, whether she's going to be a man-eater, whether she has to kick ass, whether she has to be one of the boys, whether she has to show the guys that she's just as smart or smarter, she's just as talented or creative. Women suppress a lot of their sides."
