Avicii Slams British Tabloid For Madonna 'Rebel Heart' Misquote

Avicii is not a happy man right now. He recently lashed out on Instagram rather viciously against a reporter for British tabloid The Daily Star, which the "Wake Me Up" star accuses of misquoting and twisting his words to try and pit him against Madonna. He is asked about working with Madge on her recent album Rebel Heart and he was quoted as saying he liked his demos better than the final versions.

The writer asks Avicii if working with such a strong personality who has such a particular ear led to a "clash of tastes."

"I'd say yes and no. I'd say we were all on the same page in the beginning but then...I wasn't...happy...with the final product," Avicii answers.

The journalist then asks if Avicii preferred his demo versions, before Madonna "got her hands" on them. "Yes," he answers. "I thought it was better. It was more me."

There are odd pauses in between Avicii's answers, meaning it could have been spliced together, judging by the DJ's reaction. The site changed the title of their story from "Madonna Ruined My Track" to "My Demos Were Better" after Avicii's reaction. Listen to the audio on their website here.

Fans generally agree that the demos with Avicii were better than the final versions found on the album, but leaks forced Madonna to change and reproduce much of the LP.
