American producer, DJ Lane 8 (real name Daniel Goldstein) has released his debut album Rise on his label home Anjunadeep. The 11-track LP is heavy on features, something that has picked up recently for Goldstein, with vocals added by the likes of Ara Scott, Lulu James, Patrick Baker and Solomon Grey, the latter of whom has developed a remarkable chemistry with Lane 8. He also tabs successful producer and musician Matthew Dear to assist on "Undercover."
The album is an ambitious project for a producer who is still only emerging as an artist but has still built a strong following online that has been able to translate to fans at venues and buzz around his records.
The album allows him to go beyond the deeper, more melodic singles that have been released over the past few years like "Diamonds," "Nothing You Can Say" and "Be Mine." Tracks like "Klara" and "Rise" show a much more nuanced approach to his productions with soft builds and breaks within much more airy productions. There are still the melodic, dancefloor-driven tunes that he has become known for like "Hot As You Want" and "Ghost."
