Outkast may not be working on a new album, but that's kind of OK when you consider the hip-hop duo will be performing at a stunning 40 music festivals this year. The latest addition to its massive touring schedule? Milwaukee's Summerfest. Today (Feb. 26), it was announced that Andre 3000 and Big Boi will be taking the Missouri stage in June.
According to the Journal Sentinel, Outkast will play the 11-day festival on June 29 alongside bluesy rocky guitarist Gary Clark Jr.
Outkast join the star-studded lineup, which as of now includes: Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Brad Paisley, Dave Matthews Band, Zac Brown Band, Motley Crue, Fall Out Boy and Paramore over the mid-summer stretch.
This also marks yet another major festival for Outkast, who as of now are slated to perform at Coachella, New York's Governor's Ball, The Big Guava Festival and Firefly Music Festival.
However, as Consequence Of Sound points out, the Summerfest booking leaves one big question in Outkast's festival schedule... Lollapalooza.
Known as America's biggest music festival, the Chicago show has a noted 300-mile radius clause, wherein Milwaukee falls dead center. This could mean that Outkast opted not to play Lolla. Though, it's also possible that Lollapalooza waived that part of its contract for a big name draw like Outkast. The festival has done so twice before for Summerfest artists Weezer (2005) and Wilco (2006).
Fans will just have to wait, though. That lineup doesn't come until April.
