Ultra Music Festival has announced the first phase of artists who will headline its inaugural event in Bali this fall. UMF is going big with its selections for the 2015 lineup, tabbing Skrillex and Alesso as its big letter headliners. They then added an eclectic mixture of A-Trak, Fedde Le Grand, Vicetone and Zeds Dead to help fill out the lineup.
The two day festival will take place on Sept. 24 and 25 on the beautiful Indonesian island of Bali. Ultra Bali will take place at the Potato Head Beach Club (will he be there?).
The move to Bali was announced in March as part of Ultra's continued expansion into the Asian festival market that they have started to dominate with other successful editions in Japan and South Korea. Bali is one of the major vacation destinations in Asia with its pristine beaches and natural beauty. Considering the fact that Ultra Bali is already sold out, UMF has picked the right location to host one of its new festivals on the continent. Ultra Bali joins the ranks of 18 other UMFs around the world that has been a part of an aggressive expansion by the global EDM festival brand.
The lineup's phase two has not been announced yet, but it will probably include some smaller acts, as well as local acts, to give the festival the connection to its home country. Judging by the first wave of artists, UMF is going for a more main stream crowd, but they want to keep it diverse with some bass-heavy selections and then main stage DJs like Vicetone.
