Celebrities have a penchant for naming their kids some pretty odd names. Frank Zappa named one of his kids Moon Unit, Jermaine Jackson named his kid Jermajesty and Penn Jillette named his kid Moxie Crimefighter. However, Chief Keef just topped them all by naming his new child Sno Filmon Dot Com Cozart. Yes you did read that correctly, the kid's legal name will be SNO FILMON DOT COM COZART.
The news was confirmed by Owen Phillips, a FilmOn spokesperson, to DNAInfo, who claims the move is a way to promote Keef's upcoming album.
"Alki David has announced that Chief Keef and his newest baby mama have agreed to name the newborn Sno FilmOn Dot Com Cozart in order to promote the release of Sosa's double album Bang 3 with FilmOn Music and MondoTunes on September 18."
The baby name references a specific the web address for Keef's record label. There has not been explanation as to why the kid is named Sno, which is by far the most normal word in his whole name.
It is also interesting that they decided to include the Dot Com in the name, instead of just going with Sno Filmon Cozart. They are really pushing the digital side of the label and the release.
Chief Keef was dropped by Interscope last year, which delayed the release of his long-awaited Bang 3 album for nearly two years. He signed on with Greek billionaire Alki David's FilmOn earlier in the year to help fun Keef's project, including videos and promo the upcoming double Bang 3 album. Earlier in the month, he dropped the first half of the project as a free mixtape. The second half will drop on September 18.
Now the question remains - two, three, five or even ten years down the road when the kid is in school and this album is no longer present in the psyche of the modern day music fan, what type of abuse will this kid take over his name? Only time will tell if this is the greatest marketing plot ever or the worst parenting move ever.
