The world of Jane the Virgin is going to get another pop superstar for its second season. Just weeks after Britney Spears announced that she'll be checking in to the Marbella this fall, Kesha also revealed that she's joining the cast in a guest role.
The "Timber" singer announced that she's joining Gina Rodriguez, Justin Baldoni, Jaime Camil and crew for season two of Jane the Virgin on her Twitter. It's set to be her first major acting role.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Kesha will be playing Jane Villenueva's (Rodriguez) new neighbor, a "colorful" musician names Annabelle. And unfortunately for Jane, who just gave birth to her first son, Annabelle is not a big fan of babies or children.
We are so thrilled Kesha will be appearing on Jane!" Jane the Virgin executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman said in a statement. "We are all huge fans of hers, and we are so excited to welcome her to the Jane the Virgin family."
Meanwhile, Spears' role has been confirmed for the fifth episode. She will play the arch nemesis of Camil's Rogelio.
Kesha and Spears are just the latest musicians to guest star on Jane the Virgin. The runaway CW hit has previously enlisted Paulina Rubio and Juanes in guest roles.
Jane the Virgin season two will premiere on Oct. 12 on The CW.
