American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy has had nothing but praise for Lady Gaga and her involvement in the fifth and latest upcoming season of the FX hit show, AHS: Hotel. His latest admiration stems from the singer's ability to fully commit to a potentially extremely awkward scene.
Aug. 10 marked the beginning of shooting Gaga scenes for the anthology series' latest season. The 29-year-old will portray a wealthy and tendy hotel owner and countess named Elizabeth in what will be the "Bad Romance" singer's first major TV gig.
"She's the only actress I think I've worked with who wanted to do more explicit stuff than was written," Murphy explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "You write a foursome for her and you expect a lot of questions. She never did that."
"She showed up and she was wearing diamond pasties, a Band-Aid on her hoo-ha, heels, and a black veil that Alexander McQueen made for her on the day before his death. Then the crew gasped in delight and we were off," he continued.
Gaga will star alongside extraordinary company of Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Finn Wittrock, Naomi Campbell, Max Greenfield, Emma Roberts, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Chloë Sevigny and Matt Bomer.
Getting into the eerie spirit that encompasses American Horror Story, Lady Gaga recently threw a midnight pool party bash for her AHS castmates, which featured a blood-red dyed swimming pool. Recen
tly discussing the character of Elizabeth, Murphy detailed: "She owns the hotel and she is sort of a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people. She has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode that plays out over the course of the season," NME notes.
The fifth season is slated to premiere on FX this October.
