Tyler Perry released a poignant tribute video made for Bobbi Kristina, the only daughter of rapper Bobby Brown and fallen singer Whitney Houston on his public Facebook page. The heartbreaking tribute video was as yet unreleased to the public and only played at her private funeral earlier this summer.
The tragic legacy of Houston continued when Bobbi Kristina died (July 26) in hospice care after being found half-drowned in a bathtub near her Atlanta-area home a few months prior. CBS reported that Bobbi Kristina was discovered in the townhouse she shared with Nick Gordon, an orphan that her mother had raised and whom Bobbi Kristina called her "husband."
With all of the controversy that always swirled around her family in the entertainment industry, it is understandable that this was kept private until Sept. 4. The release is also very fitting due to all the sympathy that Bobbi Kristina received after the untimely death of her mother three years ago. Bobbi Kristina was buried in New Jersey in a plot next to her mother and although her home life was clearly turbulent, it has always been suggested that they were close.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Perry posted this message to his Facebook page along with the video, "The Houston estate asked if I would share this tribute that I put together for Bobbi Kristina's private funeral. On behalf of the Brown and Houston families, we would all like to thank you for your prayers and support."
The intensely emotional tribute was created using Houston's "You Were Loved" and begins with a quote from Bobbi Kristina herself, "I hope you feel my love, pain, beauty, agony at times, blessings all the time," and continues with "No one understands me. And I don't expect them to, but I will try to spread my love and my story through words and this blessing of a powerful voice that Mom has given me," as photos of the young 22-year-old flash in the background, some of Bobbi Kristina with her parents in better days.
