Slipknot Cover Ricky Martin 'Livin La Vida Loca' in Viral Mash-Up Video

Metal band Slipknot wouldn't be caught dead actually playing Ricky Martin's Latin hit "Livin' la Vida Loca," but one fan found out it's pretty hilarious to edit the two performances together.

The video has been going viral on Facebook this past week and unlike some mash-up videos this one is actually pretty hilarious. The editing is well done to make it look as though frontman Corey Taylor is singing right along to the 1999 hit, while in full makeup for the band's usual creepy visual aesthetic. It's complete with cuts to guitar solos and some killer head banging that's precisely in rhythm with the song.

Similar videos usually miss the mark trying too hard to cram the blend of songs and performance down your throat. But, this mix just falls into place so well you can't help but laugh at its ridiculousness.

The best part might be the fact that the Slipknot crowd erupts into thunderous applause when the song kicks in...

Slipknot is working on writing new material for an upcoming album, but don't expect anything soon. According to Metal Injection, the band isn't expecting to release anything until 2017. The group has a full tour schedule planned for the rest of the year and most of 2016. Band member Clown said it takes them around six months to record a new album, and that's with the band writing while on tour. We're looking at a release date for the first quarter of 2017, so don't hold your breath.

As for Martin, he released he latest album Personalidad in June with the lead single "La Mordidita." It hasn't done so well critically or commertially.
