Last month, August Alsina released "Why I Do It" featuring Lil Wayne and now the track has received video treatment.
Throughout the nearly four-minute clip, Alsina and Wayne share camera time on a jet, behind the scenes of the actual video set and in the strip club. The video, complete with animations, also provides lyrics of the song (think Kanye West and T-Pain's "Good Life" video).
Aside from "Why I Do It," Alsina and Lil Wayne recently collaborated on Curren$y's "Bottom of the Bottle." Alsina joined the Young Money rapper onstage during his Lil Weezyana Fest in their hometown as well.
Earlier this month, Alsina shared Instagram videos of DJ Khaled praising his new album This Thing Called Life.
“The structure’s unbelievable, man. Not lying to you, it’s on my mama,” Khaled said of Alsina's sophomore release. “I like the way you sequenced the album. I love the music. The only time I’ve ever heard albums like that was Dr. Dre’s Chronic or Nas’ Illmatic.”
The track serves as the second release from The New Orleans crooner's new album. In June, he released a video for his single "Hip-Hop."
TTCL follows 2014's Testimony, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales of 67,000 copies in the United States.
As previously reported, Alsina hoped the album would be released sometime around the end of August/mid-September. He first announced the album in July during an interview with Angie Martinez. While talking with the radio vet, he also opened up about his eye disease called Keratoconus, which caused blindness in his left eye and loss of vision in his right. He underwent a surgery that would prevent his vision from getting worse.
